On January 15, Dongfeng Hongtai, Faurecia China and Dongfeng PO entered into a tripartite equity acquisition & integration agreement. Under the agreement, with Dongfeng PO as the carrier, Dongfeng Hongtai will acquire and integrate Dongfeng Faurecia's exterior business, further exert Dongfeng Hongtai's advantage in automotive exterior parts, especially in automotive plastic rear doors, and build an exterior business platform.

The exterior business integration is an important move of Dongfeng Hongtai to implement the strategy of "dual-wheel drive, coordinated development", specialize, refine and improve its automotive parts business. As another part of the exterior business integration, Dongfeng Hongtai stripped the composite subsidiary of Dongfeng Faurecia on September 13, 2018, further improved the level of strategic cooperation with Faurecia China, and established Hongtai Faurecia Composite (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., to jointly advance composite R&D and application in the field of vehicle light weight.
